Dakota Event Center (DEC) Wedding Venue

The Dakota Event Center (DEC) has been proud to be the all-in-one venue provider here in Aberdeen, SD. Founded in 2010, the DEC has hosted every kind of event you can think of: from weddings to corporate events and even to concerts.

The 24,000 square-foot facility is uniquely laid out so that they can add or remove walls to create rooms for up to 2,000 people! No matter the size or what you're planning, the DEC allows you to gather all your family and friends in one location.

What makes the DEC unique is not only their incredibly kind and knowledgeable staff, but the services they provide. The DEC offers all kinds of services such as catering, free and paid beverages, couple's suites, setting up and setting tables/stages, and so much more! The DEC runs catering and bar and beverages through Maverick's Steak & Cocktails, as well as all room accommodations through the Holiday Inn Express or the Hampton Inn and Suites. The DEC building is physically connected to all three of the buildings, so one can expect both delicious food and fine room accommodations.

The DEC is perfect for the couple that doesn't want to worry about all the little details like "How many plates do I need?" or "How do I serve all these people?". The DEC takes care of all those little details for you. You will be able to work with your very own Event Manager who will help you through every step of your wedding plan as well as make sure the DEC's services fit perfectly to your needs and vision.

Couples can stylistically expect a professional, polished, and soft venue. Another way to say it is a "clean-slate" type of venue. The goal of the DEC is to make their space your own. Whatever style or theme you want your wedding to be, the DEC is a blank canvas for you to paint your vision on!

"I would say booking the space early is key. We get filled up pretty quickly, so booking the space early, even if you don't know for sure what all you're going to need, that's okay! We can confirm that as we get closer to the date. We don't need any final numbers of any kind until five business days prior. So, there's a lot of flexibility with the guest count."

Even with all the incredible services and locations within the DEC, there are also great locations nearby that are pretty much in their backyard! Gorgeous, green and orange fields are just down the road to the south of the complex which makes a perfect spot for outdoor couple's portraits.
